The Art of Paris
Remeber that time Kenya Airways, the pride of Africa had sent me to Paris on a journey of discovery on the new Dreamliner to shoot and share images on their Instagram account, @officialkenyaairways? Well, there are many many more photos to come, I think you guys knew that I wasn't even nearly done with blogging about Paris. Today I want to show you guys a little of the art houses aka museums and places of interest that I visited in Paris. I found art to be everywhere and even though I didn't enter the most prestigious museums (time issues), I experienced art in a special way to me. From climbing up 300 steps of Le Basilique du Sacré Cœur to see this view (in above photo), to chasing the banks of the Seine to see a classic view of the Cathédrale Notre Dame, I enjoyed every view made by the human structures in Paris and their art (including the art within).
One of my proudest moments was seeing JR's installation at the Panthéon. If you are familiar with JR, you know what amazing work he does and how thought provoking it can be. I had somehow forgotten that it was live at the time I was in Paris until we noticed it while walking by. Of course I went in to be part of it. Part of legend.
The long walk up to Sacré-Cœur was filled with street art. And I was happy to see the delivery vans that are full of graffiti, looking like mobile art studios more than delivery vans. I kept thinking I was lost but then I'd turn a corner and see the top of the cathedral and get hope even though somehow, it seemed like I was never getting there no matter how close it seemed, just like Friday's at the office used to be, close yet so far.
The Notre Dame had such a long line of people waiting to go in, I just gave up and decided to catch the views around it instead. A classic view I had seen from Parisian Instagramers was the one from under one of the bridges, I went to check it out with Vitor as my faithful companion during this long walk. The amazing thing for me was how much detail goes into the making of these cathedrals, it's mind blowing.
And that is all for now. Below, some bonus shots around Paris & along the Seine.
Have a great rest-of-week guys. God bless you guys.
