#OnetouchLive Amboseli. The home of the African Elephant

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that #OnetouchLive was in Amboseli a few days ago for something we like to call #ShootingKenya where we choose a destination and go there to photograph and seek adventure. This one was a full house of 16 people (we had to leave a few who didn't book on time, unfortunately).

I was very excited about visiting the Amboseli for one main reason, Elephants. I love elephants so much, they are my favourite animals as scary as they can be. But I find that they photograph so well and are very graceful as they walk. I like that they also grieve the loss of one of them, much like us.

So anyway apart from the elephants, Amboseli is a fantastic viewing point for Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest mountain. Depending on the time of the year (and how lucky or unlucky you are) the mountain peak could be clearly visible or totally covered by clouds. We were so blessed as God showed off His marvellous creation for us to capture. The mountain peak stayed clear all afternoon as we photographed in the park.

At times it felt like a fake backdrop with Kilimanjaro so close to us. I love the contrast between the blue background and the savannah grassland foreground. We got to Amboseli and checked in at Sentrim Amboseli, had lunch and a quick swim, then it was out to do a game drive and try to capture great shots of elephants.

Shortly after getting into the park we saw this huge huge herd walking across the plains from the swamp headed toward the forested area for the night. We turned right back and decided to waylay the movement of the elephants (they were definitely over 40 elephants). Once in position, we just waited for the line of elephants to cross as we shot ourselves crazy. I must say, this was the most exciting things I have ever seen. From huge bulls to tiny baby elephants all moving along like a big happy family.

Can you already tell how much I love elephants.

And then there were several ostriches we saw at sundown.

The only thing that maybe as beautiful as the elephants here is the sunsets and sunrises. Things of beauty.
